About ordering a custom-designed Bamboo Doh:

If you have a design in mind for your doh, you may submit us a good quality JPG file for inspection: when it comes to lacquering a doh, a lot of patterns/designs can be made, but we would not say that everything is possible!

Once we get your design, we will submit it to famous doh makers in Japan... Yes you can even have your own unique doh lacquered at Shoryudoh in Kyoto if you wish so!!!

If the maker thinks that your design cannot be made, then we will discuss together what may be changed so it can work.

About prices:

Prices will vary from case to case, but in general, a custom designed Doh-dai would range from JPY 70,000 to 130,000.
Mune and building-up fees are separate.

The best mune made in Japan is the Senkou Mune.
Depending on design, they start at JPY 140,000, and go up to about 220,000.

A hand-rubbed finish Kurozan Mune is around JPY 68,000.

A Kurozan Mune is around JPY 33,000.

Building fee is JPY 25,000, done inside our shop, using the best, thickest Kurozan Heri-kawa.
